Agus Marto Step So BI governor
JAKARTA - XI Commission finally approved the nomination of Agus DW Martowardojo as the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI). However, the determination will be made on March 26, 2013.
"On March 25 we agreed to do the fit and proper test, and on March 26 the selection of governors," said Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives at Parliament House Emir Moeis Jakarta, after leading an internal meeting Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo nomination as Governor of BI, Jakarta, Tuesday (03.05.13) night.
Before undergoing a fit and proper test, the House will hold a public hearing requesting input from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (INTRAC) and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
"We will ask for input from the new joint (Association of State-owned banks) and the Banks (Association of National Commercial Banks)," he added.
Emir said the public hearing will be held by the House on March 15 to March 18, 2013. "Public hearing next week, a maximum of three days. Later will listen to input from the community," he explained.
In addition, the Emir if the government wants to add more candidates to meet the four fractions such as Golkar, Hanura, PDIP, Gerindra, then the House of Representatives Commission XI will receive it well, but in this case the Commission XI candidate must exist before 25 March 2013.
"We will accept if President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) to add another candidate, but before March 25, 2013 as on March 25, there will be a fit and proper test as Governor of BI", close the Emir.
