Indonesia need 50 Years to Same with Singapore

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Adnan Pandu Praja declared Indonesia takes about 50 years to matching the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) of Singapore which is currently 9.2.
"The number of GPA Indonesia in 2011, a new 3.0 and ranked 100th of 182 countries surveyed," he said at a seminar on the prevention of corruption Padang.
Present on the occasion of West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno, head of parliament and member of the provincial legislature, local government officials, students and community elements.
He explained that the number of GPA Indonesia defeated Singapore (9.2), Brunei Darussalam (5.2), Malaysia (4.3) and Thailand (3.4), but better than Vietnam (2.9), Timor Leste (2.8), the Philippines (2.6), Cambodia (2.1) and Myanmar (1.5).
"It took two more offspring to reach the same number of GPA Indonesia and Singapore," he said.
Performance and quality of public services, he added, became a focus for Transparency International in conducting research to determine the GPA.
Therefore, no matter how law enforcement accomplishments corruption trap if no attempt to significant improvements to the quality of public services, then Indonesia will remain stigmatized as a country with a poor level of corruption.
In fact, the results of research on GPA and rank Indonesia is very influential on the world of investment or foreign investment.
"So it shows how important public service that is transparent, accountable and professional that can reduce corruption," he said.
He said in general of the observations are frequently encountered in public service requirements and the procedure is long, convoluted and not transparent.
In addition, the timing is unclear, costly and discriminatory.
According to him, the things that are not so open opportunities for corruption in the form of bribes to officials of service users.
He said to change it is not an easy task, because such a mindset is deeply entrenched in the character most likely to promote responsible government authority than service role.
However, by mutual consent and support of a more democratic life of the nation and the commitment to make a change of leadership, it is believed the change of orientation of the power into the public service orientation can be achieved optimally.
"KPK and BPKP owned by their respective authorities will continue to encourage the public service quality improvement, both at the center and in the regions for the eradication of corruption," he said.
