Jokowi Determined to Rejuvenate Public Transport by Degrees

"All public transport in Jakarta will be rejuvenated. Transjakarta busway will be added to its fleet. He added, after a management ownership is clear, that should be changed is the behavior of the driver or public transport drivers. Jokowi requiring drivers to wear uniforms and have identification cards and driver's license. "In addition, public transport operators must make cultural training traffic rules," said Jokowi.

Jokowi said the rejuvenation of public transport will start by rejuvenating Kopaja and metromini in 2013. The rejuvenation bajaj and minibus going to do in 2014. According to him, the minibus will still continue to function effectively in the Lower Dam towards Tanah Abang. In addition, for Kopaja and metromini, next year will be granted as many as 1,000 new buses.

Jokowi said the plan should be implemented immediately because if it were not done, public transport rejuvenation program will fail. "We are now again looking for a proper explanation.
