The new curriculum will be implemented in June 2013. With the changes in the learning system formulated in the curriculum, the teachers would have a lot of homework to make this curriculum to achieve the goal of the student.
Observers Education, Arief Rachman, said that the key of the new curriculum goes smoothly and successfully form a smart student and virtuous character is a teacher. In application of the curriculum, the teacher plays an important role.
"I do not mind the concept of the new curriculum. Importantly teachers ready and willing to commit to this curriculum," said Arief.
He said the curriculum with a very good concept would not work well without the role of committed teachers. Not only that, teachers are also required to create a more pleasant atmosphere in the classroom, especially for elementary school level (SD) using integrative thematic-based learning system.
"Teachers should be able to convey the material in accordance with a fun and creative theme that the students do not get bored," said Arief.
"Encourage children to participate actively in the learning process. Make workgroups that they want to discuss," he added.
He added that the competency test that is run by the teachers is actually one of the steps to prepare for teaching skills will be given a new curriculum was implemented in June next year.
