The
militant group is believed to be derived from Ezzedine al-Qassam
Brigades publicly executed six people accused of collaborating with
Israel, Tuesday (20/11/2012), when the Israeli air force bombing
increase in one of the deadliest days of military action in Gaza.
The
body of a collaborator or a stooge Israel was tied to the back of a
motorcycle and dragged through the center of Gaza City in a convoy of
motorcycles. Pants man dilorotkan down and arms stretched backwards.
Eyewitnesses
said six men had previously been brought to a main road in the Sheikh
Radwan neighborhood in Gaza City and forced to lay on the ground, where
they eventually shot dead.
A message reportedly pinned to their bodies. It
reads, "Al-Qassam Brigades announced the execution of the traitors" who
"contributed to the death of many fighters to report their positions
... and provide information about the movement of the fighters to the
enemy".
Human rights groups are still investigating the incident. Issam Yousef, Director of the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, said he could not determine who capture or kill those people. "Some
names are made known to me tonight (about the collaborators who were
killed) has been convicted and sentenced to death. They not taken away
from the streets today and shot," said Yousef was quoted as saying in
the Sydney Morning Herald, Wednesday (21/11 / 2012).
"The
collaborators is a very serious problem in the Palestinian community.
Based on hundreds of cases, there is a very serious crime committed by
the collaborators, especially in situations like this."
However,
instead of directly executing, the collaborators should be prosecuted
and dealt with according to the law and their legal rights are
protected, said Yousef. "Here
Israel targeting civilians and opposition leaders, they do it with
drones (unmanned aircraft), but they also use the collaborators," said
Yousef.
Palestinian
Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) noted that the Israeli collaborators "is
an integral part of the structure of occupation and one of the most
effective weapons used by the military to defend Israel's illegal
occupation."
"The
collaborators work together, and even perform, the Israeli military
crimes, types of crimes are war crimes as defined in international
humanitarian law."
PCHR,
who was also vocal in opposing the death penalty, said the
collaborators must be handled strictly according to international
standards on arrest, detention, and the right to a fair trial.
Execution
against six accused henchmen Israel took place on the seventh day
Israeli military offensive that has killed more than 120 Palestinians,
both militants and civilians, and four Israelis, including a soldier who
died on Tuesday. The
execution follows a similar incident on Friday, where Palestinian
militants publicly executed a man accused of providing intelligence
information to the Israeli military. A message attached to his body stating that he claimed to have participated in the killing of 15 Israeli operation.
Last September, a court in Gaza sentenced to death a man on suspicion of collaborating with Israel, Maan news agency reported.
