Eight Justice Determined Today
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) will determine the eight justices justices from 24 candidates that have been tested fit and proper. Determination of members of Supreme Court justices will be conducted in a plenary meeting of the Commission III on Wednesday (23/01/2013) afternoon.
"Tomorrow (today) is planned to be carried out the determination of the eight elected justices. But, before we first plenary meeting," said Vice Chairman of Commission III Aziz Shamsuddin, Tuesday (22/01/2013), in Jakarta.
Aziz explained that the plenary meeting was conducted to determine whether Supreme Court nominee meets the criteria that is viable as justices or not. If deemed worthy enough, then the selection process by voting in the Commission III will continue. "If it turns out members need time to consider the candidates exist, then it may be postponed," said Aziz.
He said every member of Commission III entitled to select a maximum of eight candidates for Supreme Court justices. All candidates for supreme court justices numbered 24 people. They have been through the stages of manufacture of paper and fit and proper test in the Commission III. A total of 24 people had also passed the selection test conducted feasibility and propriety of the Judicial Commission (KY).
