Engines Damaged at Sea, Ships Return to Darma Kartika Kolaka
KOLAKA - After two hours of setting sail from the Port of Kolaka, Southeast Sulawesi, to Bajoe, South Sulawesi, Darma ferry Kartika 1 suffered engine damage.
Darma ships departing from the Port of Kartika one Kolaka on Wednesday (01/09/2013) early morning at approximately 1:00 pm to the Port Bajoe, carrying 60 passengers and 20 cars and trucks.
The captain decided to return to Kolaka because of high waves and strong winds that hit the ship. The blow was made one of the ship's engine was broken.
Ishariyanto, skipper Darma Kartika 1, said the passengers informed in advance so as not to panic. After that, the ship turned back toward Port Kolaka using a machine that still works.
He added, after checking, it turns out the right main engine died and could not be used. It was forced to ask for help another ship to guide trips.
KM City Muna also help drive Darma Kartika 1 back to Kolaka. At approximately 5:00 pm, Darma Kartika 1 has reached Kolaka. There were no casualties in the incident.
Until this morning, the ship has not moved on. SCaca in Kolaka is still very vulnerable to sea crossings.
