Chavez Suffer Respiratory Infection After Cancer Surgery
Headline - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, suffered a severe respiratory infection after he struggled to recover after undergoing cancer surgery umpteenth time in Havana, Cuba.
58-year-old socialist leader has been more than three weeks did not appear in public. Venezuelan officials say that Chavez is still in a weakened condition after undergoing surgery for four battled cancer.
"Hugo Chavez suffered complications from a lung infection is severe. Infection that has made the respiratory system does not function properly, thus making the president should be rested," said Ernesto Villegas, Venezuela's Information Minister, in an official statement about the condition of a new president on Thursday local, as reported by Reuters news agency.
While there are rumors that President Hugo Chavez has been in a state of near death, after the Vice President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, Venezuela's National Assembly head, Diosdado Cabello, Venezuela and some national figures come to visit Chavez in hospital.
"He was conscious was fighting the disease. He has a fighting spirit and tremendous energy to fight and he sure can beat the disease. We all give the power and energy for his recovery," said Nicolas Maduro.
Rumor that Chavez's health worsens, making foreign investors had concerns about the way the business if Chavez should be replaced. However, Vice President, Nicolas Maduro, asserted that there is no transition in Venezuela.
"The transition is happening in Venezuela is the transition to socialism," said Nicolas Maduro, in comments broadcast live on state television.
Meanwhile, on January 10, 2013 is the day of the inauguration of Hugo Chavez became president, but there is no information if the president-elect does not attend the inauguration date.
Constitution of Venezuela only make laws if elected president dies or resigns, then a new election will be held within 30 days.
