Floods lunge Aceh, Bojonegoro, and Sumbawa


VIVAnews - The flood disaster again struck several areas of the country such as Aceh Besar, Bojonegoro, and West Sumbawa on Wednesday January 2, 2013.


In the West Sumbawa regency, West Nusa Tenggara, flooding occurred at 14.30 pm. Floods hit four districts, namely District Pototano, Sateluk, Brangrea, and Taliwang. A total of 370 homes were flooded, 3 broken bridge, and 120 acres of agricultural land submerged.

"While in Aceh Besar district, floods soak Beurenud village in District Seulimum with a height of 3-4 feet of water, at 20.00 pm yesterday. A total of 95 houses were inundated and 600 people evacuated, "said Head of Data Information and Public Relations of the National Agency for Disaster Management, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, Thursday, January 3, 2013.

Bojonegoro regency, East Java, as well as heavy rains yesterday, causing floods submerged four districts, namely District Balen, Sugihwaras, Trucuk, and Bojonegoro. Floods soak more than 400 homes, more than 150 hectares of rice fields, and streets in the village.

Regional Disaster Management Agency every district has coordinated with the Regional Management Board catastrophic provincial and other agencies to conduct emergency peganganan, set up soup kitchens and health posts.
