45 Company Request Suspension of UMP
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Provincial Government has set amount Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) in 2013 amounted to USD 2.2 million. However, the rejection of the business is still rolling. Finally, 45 companies have filed a suspension petition file UMP determination to city government.
Head of Jakarta Manpower Dedet Sukendar confirmed today it has received no fewer than 45 requests suspension of the UMP. Requests came from companies who claim not afford the UMP for the set. Such application will be assessed before deciding by Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo.
"The numbers continue to grow, but we can not decide for a long process," said Dedet, Wednesday (12/12/2012) morning, in Jakarta.
Dedet said the decision to accept or reject the suspension to be long because it must be based on the requirements that must be fulfilled completely. Even being heavy because of them must obtain a letter of approval from the union in their respective companies. Not only that, the company should also submit audit evidence can not afford to pay wages in accordance UMP from an independent team. And, control of the city government will also be done before the petition is granted.
"How are we going to grant that a lot of companies that baseball completes paperwork. Mostly baseball include a letter of approval from the union," he said.
On 20 November, Joko Widodo governor has set a minimum wage of Rp 2.2 million in 2013. Companies that claim to be unable to pay the wages of a set given the discretion to seek injunctive later than December 21, 2012 or 10 days before the UMP set.
