Syria's Foreign Ministry spokesman Blurred, UN and EU Pull Staff


VIVAnews - A spokesman for the Syrian Foreign Ministry has reportedly fled the country, the raging political conflict and civil wars in the last 20 months. The United Nations and the European Union had earlier this week began pulling its staff from Syria.
According to Reuters, an anonymous source from diplomatic circles in the Middle East on Monday revealed that Jihad al-Makdissi has left the country. "He had defected. I can only say he was out of Syria," the diplomat said on condition of anonymity.

As a spokesman for the Syrian Foreign Ministry, Jihad far more likely to appear in public and the media to explain the policy of the government of President Bashar al-Assad, including the brutal eradication of the opposition that provoked an international outcry.
