The Only Female Iranian Minister Sacked
TEHRAN - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sacked Health Minister Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, for criticizing Ahmadinejad's inability to cope with the crisis in his country medicine. Dastjerdi is the only woman minister who held Iran since the Islamic revolution happened in the country past 1979.
Some of this week in the Iranian media reported shortage of medicines in the country. Drugs crisis occurred as a result of economic sanctions given by the west to Iran.
The situation was made Dastjerdi criticize colleagues in government that are not considered to provide funds to import drugs desperately needed it. Dastjerdi mention only a quarter of the funds intended for the purchase of drugs actually disbursed by the central government to the ministry.
"Drugs are more important even than the bread though. I heard a luxury car can be imported into Iran by using government subsidies. Why funding for drugs can not be given entirely? "Said Dastjerdi, as quoted by Reuters on Friday (12/28/2012).
Dastjerdi replace Ahmadinejad with his deputy at the Ministry of Health, Mohammad Hassan Tariqat Monfared. Dastjerdi dismissal was also under fire from lawmakers in Iran for being too excessive.
"While the president has the right to dismiss ministers, but the reason for dismissal Dastjerdi is not logical. Ahmadinejad fired her because of personal problems at their disposal, "added the chairman of the health committee in the Iranian Parliament, Hosaeinali Sahriari.
During Ahmadinejad's political opponents criticized the poor management that is run by the president's administration. Critics Ahmadinejad said he took refuge on the grounds of economic sanctions west to cover the lack becusannya to run the government.
