March, Comets May Seem Naked Eye
CALIFORNIA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announces the appearance of outer space objects, comets, which can be seen by the naked eye in March 2013. Through YouTube video duration 4 minutes 11 seconds, NASA explained that the object space can be viewed without the need to use a telescope.
Reported Science.NASA, Thursday (02/07/2013), far beyond the orbit of Neptune and Pluto, where the sun is not brighter than other stars, a great number of bodies of ice surrounding the solar system. Astronomers call it the "Oort Cloud" and is a source of some comets ever recorded in history.
Reportedly, one of the central object space toward Earth. Comet Pan-STARRS has been discovered through the Panoramic Survey Telescope & Rapid Response System on Mount Haleakala in Hawaii.
Astronomers using a telescope measuring 1.8 meters of massive objects to scan that was speeding toward Earth. Not only comets, astronomers also observe the movement of asteroids, which could be potentially hazardous to Earth.
In early March, the comet will be at an altitude of 100 million miles from Earth. Most astronomers believe that this object can be seen with the naked eye.
However, Karl Battams of the Naval Research Lab says that comets from the Oort Cloud recently always had an unknown quantity, in which comets can display the "attractions" spectacular or just the opposite.
Oort Cloud derives its name from the 20th century astronomer, Jan Oort. Reportedly, a comet from the Oort Cloud as a time capsule, which stores frozen gas and primitive.
In addition, it also keeps comet dusty material from the original solar nebula 4.5 billion years ago. Comet is reportedly occasionally falling towards the Sun with the element of ice.
