The President and First Lady Ani Up Slopes of Mount Slamet
Jakarta - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono will ride to the slopes of Mount Slamet, Central Java. Later, the president will engage in dialogue with the local farmers.
"The President will stay in touch with people around Bukit Batumirah on the slopes of Mount Slamet in Central Java," said presidential spokesman, Julian Pasha, Thursday (02/21/2013).
Several ministers who accompanied the President, among others, Minister of Education Muhammad Nuh, Minister of Public Works Joko Kirmanto, Minister Gita Wirjawan, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Syarief Hassan, Minister of Forestry Zulkifli Hassan and Minister of Agriculture Suswono, TNI Commander Admiral Agus Suhartono, National Police Chief Gen. Timur Pradopo, Cabinet Secretary Dipo Alam and State Secretary Sudi Silalahi.
The President and his entourage will be down the path along the 850 meters. This location itself is at an altitude of 1233 meters above sea level. The climax, the president will be at an altitude of 1370 meters above sea level.
There are some posts that have been prepared in this journey. In each post, the president will pass through a number of plantations, ranging from chili, carrots, cabbage, tomatoes to potatoes.
The weather on the mountain itself keeps changing. But most often overcast with winds strong enough.
